the lapd were called to brittany murphy's home in the hollywood hills less than two months before the actress died. it was 2:30 a.m. and the neighbors kept hearing the actress's "incessant screaming."
when the police arrived, brittany was on her balcony screaming she'd heard gunfire and that someone was trying to shoot her. an investigation failed to turn up a gun, bullets, or dead bodies. a malfunctioning generator was blamed for the sounds brittany had heard.
this event was reported in gossip columns at the time as a "haha, she is so crazy" sort of thing. but, i wonder what really happened. the police were somewhat predisposed to believe the "crazy" theory as when they arrived the neighbors were helpfully twirling their fingers in front of their ears and pointing to brittany.
i don't know if brittany murphy had previously done things to tax the neighbors nerves or if, after living near britney spears when she had her well-publicized difficulties, the neighbors were short of patience with celebs of a certain name.
maybe it was just the generator.. i have no idea having never heard one "malfunction." i also don't know who else was in brittany's house (i assume her mother was there at least). i just thought this was a weird little story.

simon monjack, history of heart problems
i recently read that simon monjack had been scheduled for bypass surgery. he'd been putting it off (against doctor's advice, most likely) because he was in the middle of planning some sort of event related to the brittany murphy charity he'd wanted to start. so, by itself, perhaps simon's death is not that suspicious.
however, the fact remains the same house has seen: a woman in her mid-twenties have what appeared to be a mental breakdown, a middle-aged woman diagnosed with cancer, a woman in her early thirties die of pneumonia, and a man in his late thirties die of a possible heart attack. of course, there is evidence of at least some drug use among these people, still.. it seems a little odd considering how quickly it all happened. especially since both deaths occurred at the house despite the fact 911 was called for them.
some people have mentioned that this kind of thing is much more common among drug addicts than regular people. i have to say that i don't know that much about that... but, i don't know that i've heard about this much happening in the same location before. however, i also don't know of any particular chemical the house could be leaking that would cause this variety of symtoms. whatever the case, maybe sharon murphy should consider a vacation away from that place just to see if her condition so happens to improve.

simon monjack dies at age 39
around 9:30 p.m. on may 23, 2010, simon monjack is found unconscious by sharon murphy (the same woman who found his wife brittany murphy unconscious only five months ago). sharon murphy called 911, but simon monjack could not be revived.
monjack's death is under investigation. it's being said online that he may have suffered a heart attack. monjack, a screenwriter, had attempted to start a charity using brittany's name.
this is a very strange case. many things have been said about simon monjack and his relationship with his late wife brittany murphy. however, he did seem to really miss brittany very much. he still lived in the same house where he'd lived with brittany and had not yet been able to part with her things. perhaps they are together again.

taking vicodin with tussinex is a bad idea
I just read brittany murphy's toxicology report. she wasn't a drug addict. her weakened condition caused by pneumonia and severe anemia contributed to her death.
the drugs she had were consistent with someone trying to self-medicate a respiratory infection (they said, not me). so they've given her the ever popular "accidential overdose" designation.
IF you have vicodin, don't take tussinex. you already have hydrocodone in the vicodin. take tussinex's "little brother" (as my doctor calls it), delsim. it's otc. or, take tussinex since it's faster acting, and don't take vicodin. just take tylenol. too much hydrocodone doesn't make you cough less. it depresses your respiration. they don't say brittany od on these particular drugs, but this is common sense. i've never even taken vicodin, so I don't know so much about it. I do know what is in it, however.
mysteriously, she had three "benzos" (as dr. drew calls them) that didn't match any of the prescription bottles at her house. she'd been home sick for a few days, so how the fuck did these drugs get into brittany's system?
examination of her body proves she wasn't abusing drugs or alcohol chronically so, i'd have to think she was at least TRYING to be careful with her medicines. so why would she take three random pills?

simon monjack sues warner for (indirectly) killing brittany
brittany murphy's grieving husband has come to the conclusion that warner firing brittany from happy feet 2 killed her.
he says they based their decisions on rumors and this really hurt brittany which stressed her out which caused her heart condition to kill her.
the official report on what killed brittany has not been released. so, the timing seems a bit strange. surely, he's not going to take this all the way to court? (this could have contributed to her death, but can it be proven?)
simon also says the prescription medication (that was in the house, not in brittany) all belonged to him. a lot of people speculate she o.d.'d, but people always think that.
we'll know soon enough whether brittany had any drugs in her bloodstream. since she wasn't able to digest the food she ate the night before, I am not sure if she would've been able to digest pills either. so, it kind of looks like she didn't overdose.
although, she ought to have taken some medicine for her medical conditions including an infection that had given her laringitis.
this is sad... I think he's just really upset. a lot of weird things have been said and that must be so hard on her family.

ed-nos, eating disorder not otherwise specified
ever seen a skinny person who DOESN'T THINK THEY ARE FAT, eats every day, but just seems a little too thin? well, they'll tell you they have a high metabolism (probably true in many case), eat food right in front of you (and not leave your presence afterward), and even be an acceptable weight (sometimes). so, how's this an eating disorder?
if they lean toward anorexia, they will consistently not eat quite enough calories per day. some days they'll eat plenty, some days they won't, some days they'll fast.
the people around them aren't lying when they say "but they eat all the time." this form of ed has less of a compulsion behind it. so, the person can eat if they're hungry or if they "have" to.
the person also have a fairly accurate idea of how they look although they may get a little obsessed about certain details (they want to weight less than a particular number, they want to weigh themselves frequently, they count something... calories, fat grams, portions, whatever).
the person with this is motivated differently than a classic anorexic or bulemic (etc). they have some symptoms in common and others they really don't have.
it almost seems like this shouldn't be a problem because you aren't behaving in an extreme way. but, unfortunately, it does cause problems because your body doesn't have enough calories to function....
i'm talking about the anorexia version because that's what I have... but, I don't have body dysmorphia, and I never have weighed less than 93 pounds (i weigh more than that now). I never really did anything like bulemia, so I don't understand it as well...
I can understand anorexia only to a certain extent. such as I do get why they're afraid to eat, but why they can't when even they want to is hard for me.
a lot of the official line on anorexia is wrong and is certainly is wrong when it comes to the form I have. so, no one should put too much credence in that.
a lot of ed-nos people want to "fade from view" (if i'm small, they will leave me alone). there can be different reasons for this.
in my case, I was raised with extremely critical people. if it'd only been my parents, maybe it wouldn't have mattered (and my mother wasn't that critical, but she died).
but, I had other family. their attention is never good, so I didn't want it. I wanted them to like me, but I knew NO MATTER WHAT i'd never be good enough... no matter how many high grades I got (you think you're so smart/you're still not good at ---), no matter how many friends I had (they're not your friends/where are they now?), no matter how seriously I took things (yeah, but you still should/you have to why should anyone else care?), no matter how cute I was (infinite criticism here... no outfit is good enough, all aspects could be done better), no matter how many jokes I told (infinite criticism again), no matter how many promotions I got (if people choose not to notice or remember, still infinite criticism)... there was ALWAYS ROOM TO CRITICIZE or make me feel guilty that I had something slightly better than they did (no matter what the circumstances or if i'd even get to keep it).
the reason I mention this is a lot of celebrities probably have something more like this than regular anorexia. but then again, their obsession is going to be fueled by the scrunity on their appearance.
the condition is hard to diagnose, particularly years ago. I went to the doctor with a whole list of symptoms caused by anorexia but I wasn't too skinny. and I had enough energy to show I hadn't skipped a bunch of meals. my teeth were in good shape (which is more bulemia, but still)...
so, we look at someone who's too thin like brittany murphy. yet people around her will say she did eat "all the time."
I don't know what problems she had or didn't have, but she WAS underweight. still, that doesn't mean she was starving herself right in front of everyone. in fact, it's more likely she wasn't.
still being so underweight wasn't good for her... yet, in her profession, she may have been frightened to gain weight, so... if people want to understand what happened to her, they need to check what she actually did not what they think people with eating disorders do.
personally, I don't know all about her case. but someone does.

oh well, of course news
first, the dvd rental boxes are busily pulling brittany murphy's movie posters that show her "dead" in a bathtub. but, it will take at least ten days (why?), so everyone will get to look.
despite reports that brittany "collapsed in the shower" that is not what her husband says happened. her mother found her in the bathroom unconscious. so her husband placed her in the shower and ran water on her in an attempt to revive her.
she was just laying on the floor when they found her. running water on her caused her to throw up everything she'd eaten, so it's a good guess that nausea may be what prompted her to go into the bathroom.
according to reports, brittany last ate the night before. for the food to still be in her upper stomach... this means her body wasn't working properly the night before. it's sad this wasn't recognized.
of course, there is still the possibility that something outside of brittany's control happened to her. I hope not, but I can understand why people would say this.
one thing a lot of people have noticed is that finding pretty pictures of brittany is difficult. by "pretty" I mean a nice photo that is not from a movie and also isn't from a weirdly-themed photoshoot. so, a lot of people are using red carpet photos.
all of brittany's photoshoots seem to be very screwed up... there is the eyes wide shut one, the one in the leather mask, the one where she has a whisk in her pocket (seriously), and lots where we see her panties even though she looks like she's unhappy to be showing them. it's sad... she was so pretty... there should be hundreds of wonderful pictures of her.
in any case, brittany's funeral will be christmas eve. the hollywood haunted tour van has already been spotted driving past her house (by tmz).
meanwhile, britney spears will continue to be controlled by her father. she's been ordered to pay him and a whole gang of lawyers a lot of money. I thought britney's spending habits were part of why she had to have someone riding herd on her?
so, I suppose we have at least another year before we see the pink wig. brit brit is probably counting the days...
some people are shocked that frances cobain may have been exposed to some form of domestic violence. this is partly due to the custody arrangements, but there's also a restraining order... still, all you really have to know is this involves courtney love.
that nutcase from westboro baptist church has embarrassed christians by declaring that god "hates" lady gaga. he (the preacher) calls her "a prancing hussy."
now, how would he know what god thinks? and why would god "hate" lady gaga? that's silly.
but "prancing hussy" is probably accurate enough. and it's a bit catchy. song idea, lady gaga?

Brittany Murphy (11-10-1977 to 12-20-2009)
Sadly, Brittany Murphy passed away Sunday morning at 10:04 a.m. An ambulance was called to her home at 8 a.m. and she was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital. Despite efforts, she could not be revived.
Brittany's family says she had been sick with "flu like" symptoms for a few days prior. Her husband, in fact, had recently been transported from LAX to the hospital with similar symptoms. There are reports that Brittany suffered from a heart condition and diabetes.
Having lived with both diabetics and heart patients, Brittany being so sick could have thrown off the minerals in her body which, in turn, stopped her heart. A lot of people do not realize this can happen... given her very young age Brittany may not have been aware of how serious her condition was until it was too late. The strength of youth sometimes masks important symptoms.... and sometimes heart patients can forget about their underlying condition when faced with an illness that causes them to throw up, etc. Whatever, the case, this is a very sad loss to anyone who enjoyed Brittany's work.
There is a lot of speculation about drugs, but I can easily see how this sad event could have happened naturally. In any case, an autopsy will be conducted including toxicology tests. If this was not a natural event and someone did something to Brittany, I hope they are brought to justice. If she did something to herself, I think she probably didn't realize how weak she was... it would be very hard to judge such things in her condition. So, I don't think people should judge her too harshly.
But, right now, I am just really sorry to hear about this. Although Brittany had not been doing as many movies as she used to, she was still working regularly and had four movies in production at the time of her death.
Rest in peace, Brittany. You will be missed.
